Now you knoe Meshell is my girl!!! But uhmm...you may have to wait a long time for her to run her fingers through your dreads....but what do you think of her latest cd?? You have made me the man of my dreams..or something like that!! Bitter was my favorite of hers!!

Yeah, she can't run her fingers through my dreads, since I can't grow them! No, I wasn't even aware that she'd released a new one! Another reason to spend some money, and spend hours, upon hours, in Barne's & Nobles! "Bitter" was a serious piece of work. A departure from the bass-driven funk I was used to, & it took a minute for me to appreciate it. Once I understood where she was coming from, I was better able to dig it. Thanks for the heads up! Once I finish art supply shopping, you'll know where to find me!

It's very different, I think it always takes me a minute to get used to her CD's. She's got Musical A.D.D. Every album she explores new genres of music, yet still manages to make it her!!! So expect a surprise when you get it and you will be listening to it through a few times before it hits you how brilliant and beautiful some of the tracks are!! What was the last CD of hers that you picked up??

Sorry it took so long to get back at'cha...(hadda get Me'Shell's fingers outta my dreadlocks...) "Comfort Woman" was the last album of her's that I bought, and it still gets serious play in my rotation. THAT particular album smoked me from the very first play, very first track!

Aahhh ok so you are two behind. She has on called, I think The Spirit Music Jamia: Dance of the Infidel, be forewarned she doesn't sing on it at all! It's mostly her arranging and producing jazz compositions, with vocals bu other artists on a few tracks. Very different from her usual but with this one the transition to her newest is easier because on her newest she integrates her voice back into the jazz stuff she does on Infidel. This woman just doesn't stop evolving and changing!! Comfort Woman is AWESOME!! I hate that artists like her just won't ever get their due it seems.....

I'm TWO behind??? It sucks to be me, right about now...I need to play catch up...MAN! It sounds like a sweeeet album! I love the fact that she continues to change, evolve, and experiment with new sounds, fearlessly! Like a musical kaleidoscope! It's the sign, and spirit of a true artist...willing to find new ways to express oneself, and willing to implement it accordingly! She's not as appreciated as she should be, because she's not "commercial", and she can't be pigeonholed!
